Ahoy! It's a Birthday!

Ahoy there bloggers and friends!
Nautical themed birthday parties are all the rage!  Recently, HH Design House created many of the fun and unique decorations for a little sailor's first birthday. We'd love to share some pictures of swashbuckling party.  Anchors aweigh!

You're invited!  These navy, red, and powder blue tri-fold invitations were sent out to friends and family for Noah's first birthday. We created a unique monogram, anchors, whales, and sailboats which were used throughout the party and for decoration!

Mommy created a door hanger out of an old life preserver.

Look how much this sailor has grown!  Mommy came up with the idea to take a picture of Noah each month.  These picture frames are topped with a decal, created by HH Design House to indicate which month each picture was taken up to a year!

In lieu of a guest book, guests signed a canvas with the special Noah nautical monogram!

Drinks were served in custom cups

Guests had a whale of a time with these water bottles wrapped in HH Design House custom labels!

Ye still thirst matey? Sip smoothly with these straws for Sailor's Delight Sangria!

The party was hosted in the back yard of Mommy and Daddy's house.  Nautical center pieces included red, white, and navy balloons and lanterns.  Guests could play with beach balls and enjoy yummy how-you-like-it grilled cheese sandwiches prepared by the chef!

Matching cupcake toppers and food cards were created for all the yummy treats!

Napkin ties had Noah's monogram attached!

We hope you didn't make too much of a mess, but just in case, monogrammed napkins were with in reach!

What a fun table setting complete with a banner!

We think this sailor enjoyed his birthday adventure!

Thanks for dropping an anchor!  Cookies by Baked by Drake were given as favors to guests.  Hayley says they were as good to eat as they were to look at!  They must have been absolutely DE-LISH!

Just like waves in the ocean, there are ups and downs to every party, but we think that everyone had a great time!

Monkey Business: A Second Birthday in Dallas, Texas

No monkeying around...Even if this ultra-stylish-party-planning-guru-momma wasn't my best friend, I'd still want to be her! Parties and her children have to be her favorite things in the world, so you can imagine the excitement around their own big days!

The week after her monkey's first birthday, we started talking about the second! Here's what she had to say....

The Monkey idea came from my CRAZY daughter who climbs on everything! A few months before her 2nd birthday she was introduced to the "5 Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed" song and book. She absolutely loved it and a party theme was born! As I started brainstorming I saw SO many monkey parties. I loved the invitation I designed with Hayley that incorporated my color scheme of pink and brown, with the hanging "girly" monkey, and also polka dots, which are special to us since that was the theme of our daughter's first! Martha Stewart has an entire line of "ready to make" things for a monkey, and at the time Target had everything we needed to tie the theme together. From plates, to the kids cups, a cute pitcher, monkey stickers to put on the walls, we were overwhelmed by all the stuff that was monkey related! And of course there has to be jumping around at a monkey party, so although I think they are used in overabundance, it was very appropriate and the kids' favorite part! Also, I didn't think of this for my own party, but my friend Kristen threw a monkey party for her daughter, too, and gave away bananas and a recipe to go with them! She is an amazing baker and I have to think those favors were coveted by all the monkey mamas!

Thanks for sharing your party with us! We loved getting to be a part of it and hope you are still cranking out the ideas for the kiddos when I am in need someday!

xoxo hh

Everything's Bigger in Texas! A first Birthday in Houston, TX

This cowboy's first birthday was really something to hoot and holler about! Party goers saddled up and settled in for one heck of a party. The birthday boy's mom is a party-planner extraordinaire, dear friend, and the creative mind behind her own party blog (click highlighted links to visit)! We were pleased as punch to contribute to celebrating this little partner's big day! With the custom monogram we created making its appearance even down to the topper of the cake, this is what we'd call a well "branded" event!

All the stops were pulled out to make sure this was something to hear about back at the ranch! The invitations, napkins, water bottles, favors, and thank you notes all helped set the tone for this western get together. After a helpin' of barbeque, all the ranch hands and cowgirls were treated to a horse drawn hayride as the sun set.

Happy Trails from HH Design House...and don't forget to check out P is for Party for more pictures and awesome tips!
